Another e107 related post for you today…
Themes.e107 has now launched. The site has been talked about for some time within the support team and e107 developers, a few months back before I started e107Advent I decided to give the site a boost and get a design done for the site. Now a few month’s later the site is up. We are still going to be working on the site over the coming weeks, making changes, adding a logo etc.
Themers can now upload there themes at themes.e107.org. I will be uploading all of mine soon when I get a few minutes spare. Talking of my themes my e107Advent themes have now accumulated over 4000 downloads, which is increasing by the day!
More posts coming very soon!
Firstly, CSSHive gained a new feature a few days back. This feature allows sites that are submitted to CSSHive to become the featured site of the day, which means they will be featured on the homepage with a bigger screenshot. If your site becomes featured ultimately you can be sure that your traffic for that day will shoot up. So go and submit your sites.
I am personally very proud to have been part of CSSHive and its creation, its seems to be doing very well so far which is something thats always nice to know about a project you have worked on.
Secondly, I had an interview on Monday and fingers crossed I will hear something in the next few days. I am currently waiting for an email with a test project for me to complete and send back to them. Personally I think the interview went great, and my experience with e107. went down well. I showed them e107 running on my laptop and I would say they liked what they saw instantly.
Thirdly, My e107 guide/manual project hasn’t really progressed in the last week but after I have finished up some client work and done some of my own work I will be focusing more of my time writing away to get a quite sizable guide/manual out. Other work I am doing for e107 may also slow the writing down but it will be worth it.
Lastly, I updated a few of my e107Advent themes since my last blog post. Details of the updates can be seen on the e107Advent website. More updates will be coming soon.
For e107Advent I started work on a Theming Guide for e107. This was going to help people with some knowledge in web design/development create themes for e107. So web designers can get an idea of how to code their designs. I decided to let the e107 community decide what topics I covered in the guide, this way I would hopefully fill in the gaps that aren’t currently filled in documentation.
Now while I carry on writing for the next version of the guide, I have had many requests to write guides for other areas of e107. This is something I have already started work on a while ago but focus turned onto other things. After I have gotten a few projects completed in the New Year this main guide will hopefully be released and updated throughout the year. Once again with content requested by e107 users, to fill in any gaps in the current documentation.
If you have any requests for e107 documentation then feel free to contact me.
