Thank you for visiting my about me page.
Well firstly let me start with who I am… I am Andrew Yates, a young web developer based in the Solihull, UK. Currently studying as well as working for a Creative agency called 383 Project in Birmingham.
To start with let me talk about how I managed to get into web development. Throughout my life I have always been interested in computers, whether it was fixing them at my primary school or just using them for well anything really. I then started using the internet and soon after came across Frontpage. Back then I thought the sites I was creating were fantastic. How wrong I was.
After many Frontpage built websites I decided I would like to develop websites for a living once I had left school, so I managed to get onto a course that focuses on web development as well as managing others to create the perfect site for its users. In early 2008 I plan on finishing the course, after having to complete it around GCSE’s. While I finish this course I am actively looking for a full time job.
I am also very privileged to be part of the support team for a Content Management System called e107. I had used e107 for about a year and had released several themes to be used by any e107 users. Currently I am taking a more active role in helping e107 by creating the new official themes website, as well as in my own time releasing themes/guides and plugins. My latest helping of themes have been released on e107Advent.
In January 2008 I started as a in-house freelancer for 383 Project, an Award winning Creative Agency based in Birmingham, UK. My role is to develop websites using XHTML & CSS, as well as integrate these coded designs into Wordpress and in the future e107.
